Police officers are first-line emergency workers who investigate crimes, patrol communities and respond to accidents. Working conditions vary greatly based on factors such as location, staffing levels and the number of incident reports. Police work often proves to be both physically and mentally demanding, especially compared to most other jobs. In Nigeria policing is not a job to fancy or desire due to the notorious and ever changing dimensions of crime.
In this long awaited rating ,exclusively published on facts and investigation made available to our panel of judges for this rating, Here is the list of five best and most outstanding Top cops in Nigeria.Top First on the list is :

1. Idris Ibrahim (Inspector General of Police)


 Ibrahim Idris was promoted a Commissioner of Police and posted to take charge of the Kano Police Command at a time the state was in turmoil, a nightmare for security agencies and literally in the throes of the Boko Haram insurgency. Apparently bringing his national and global operational experience to bear, the tough no nonsense police officer in no time, decapitated and chased out the miscreants out of the state. The same scenario played out when he was sent by the Police High Command on a rescue mission to Nassarawa State to check the menace of the deadly Obatse ethnic militia.
The surprise triumphant candidate, Alhaji Ibrahim Kpotun Idris was actually portrayed in a newspaper analysis as a perfect material for the position of IGP if, “squarely and singularly assessed on his outstanding record of performance in the service.” But, not a few believed that he was seriously handicapped on account of the fact that, he was one candidate who was not a protégée of “powerful power blocks, political chieftains or, eminent traditional rulers.”
Under one month in office he has woven the thread of synergy between the police and her sister agencies, in fact at his visit to the CG of  The Nigeria prison service  the CG noted that IGP idris was the first ever IG to visit the prisons headquaters since it was constructed over a decade ago. IGP proved that he was indeed poised to end the Niger Delta uprising by visiting the region in less than 14 days of his appointment. He also in a bid to nip kidnapping created a special task force and anti kidnapping team . The list is endless.


2. Austin Iwar (commissioner of police Gombe State )



Austin Iwar, Gombe State Police Commissioner, is popular for his social crime prevention initiatives. In a record time of the first six months of 2016, Gombe Police Command was crowned the most proficient and aggressive community policing state in Nigeria owing to the proactive initiatives of the CP. So far, he has empowered over 10,000 idle youths through various projects, ranging from paint making, candle and soap making, empowerment schemes which had active partnership with Ngo's, Bank of Industry and religious bodies
In the history of Policing In Gombe state all Area commands , divisions and out post have undergone community policing training. Call him James Bond , you are far from been wrong !



  3. Murtala Mani (CP Akwa Ibom State )










Murtala Mani till date is literally revered as criminals nightmare.
In fact his state is a no go area for criminals Infact with mani as commissioner in the oil blessed Akwa Ibom state criminality has become an abomination. Even as the state is adjudge to have the best road network in Nigeria, it is  fully policed with the safer higher way patrol teams. Sources have it that but for the timely intervention of mani and his men the recent violent activities by armed youths in the region called Niger Delta Avengers would have left the state devastated, more so that policing the region has been more tasking than ever, yet the police boss has risen to the occasion owing to coordinated synergy with sister security agencies, proactive and aggressive use of modern equipment like the Amoured personnel carrier which was refurbished and maintained by the Quick Response Unit under his direct coordination. Akwa Ibom State still holds the record of the Most secured State in Nigeria.




4. Alkali Usman ( CP FCT )











 Usman Alkali is a devoted and unrepentant crime buster who brought criminals to their kneels.
He Policed the volatile oil region state of the Niger Delta , Delta state having successfully piloted security during the local government , state and presidential elections of 2014 and 2015 respectively with zero record of break down of Law and order . In delta state alone due to swift interventions and unequalled intelligence led operations by him and his men, he dislodged over 300 high profile criminals terrorizing the onithsha, Edo, Abgor, warri axis, Usman also arrested and arrainged over 1,500 cultists in delta state Alone.
His excellent performance earned him to his new rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police.


5. Taiwo Lakanu ( commisioner of police Imo State )












Taiwo lakanu is a sophisticated fighter, a human GPS, a known rival of criminals. Call him the smooth operator, who has saddled security like the highly intelligent MI6. Between January to June alone over 100 band wagon of suspects have been nabbed in the state . This he said is in line with the determination of his command to consolidate on the continued raiding of all criminal hideouts in the state. Also in late june 2016 he paraded over 60 suspects who were involved in various criminal activities ranging from kidnapping, murder, armed robbery and fraudulent activities. Including the gang that kidnapped Channels reporter and staff of Excel magazine Owerri.
